How do I style my public notice?

Filed in Creating and customising content

Your public notice is a notice displayed at the top of all pages and is activated using the Insert Content method – refer Insert Content. Because of its positioning on the page, your public notice styling is handled differently to other Insert Content blocks.

To apply custom styles to your public notice copy the following style groups to your custom style coding area – refer to Where do I add custom style coding in my Big Cartel theme controls?

/* - - - - Public Notice Background */
.public_notice {
	background-color: #222;
	}
/* - - - - Public Notice Text */
.notice_inner {
	font-size: 15px;
	color: #fff;
	}
/* - - - - Public Notice Links */
.public_notice a {
	color: #fff;
	text-decoration: underline;
	}

After you have pasted the above in your custom style coding area, edit the style properties to suit your preferences and click the Save link when you have finished editing.

For information on how to edit and add to CSS coding, please refer to How do I customise my Big Cartel theme?

Enable Public Notice Control

As of core release 8, you can enable public notice control that allows your customer to show/hide the public notice after they have viewed it. This control is enabled via the {{ STYLE & CONTENT OPTIONS }} section of your primary custom options – refer How do I use the Custom Options for my Big Cartel theme?
